Update: Youth Excel Onsite Psychology

Hi Everyone,

Update: Youth Excel Onsite Psychology

Youth Excel’s Onsite Psychology Service has been incredibly successful this year.  It has been a pleasure to partner with schools who are dedicated to bringing health services to those in need of them the most. Thank you for all you do to support the welfare of young people.

As Youth Excel’ Onsite Psychology Service is quickly growing we want to stay on top of demand for next year and prioritise the school we are already committed to.

Over the next four weeks we will be “re-signing” schools and allocating staff for Semester 1 2016.  Staff (and their time) will be allocated on a first in first served basis.  All bookings will need to be made by 25th November in order to be accessed Term 1 2016.

Please also note that student’s Mental Health Care Plans are renewable January 2016….enabling students to once again access up to ten sessions next calendar year.

Here are some of our success stories that make our job  worthwhile!
My girl has grown into the most beautiful young woman – so mature and delightful, it’s hard to believe she’s the same person who drove me to distraction just a few short years ago.  I can never repay you for your guidance and understanding during one of the most difficult times in my life and encouraging me not to give up – you always said we’d come out the other side and you were right! Best advice ever – have faith and never give up! Thank you so much!
Tracey – Mother of Tia (14 years old)

My girls has grown into the most beautiful woman – so mature and delightful, it’s hard to believe she’sAbout 4 years ago I started speaking to the team at Youth Excel regarding my then 14 year old daughter who had ventured off the path.  She started self-harming with cutting and burning herself, progressed onto drinking poisons, tried hanging, drowning, and finally tried overdosing herself. After 4 years of fighting for our daughter and the wonderful help of Youth Excel I can say we are now 12 months clear of any self-harm. I know this can change at any given moment but the hope, help and support that they gave us has enabled us to remain a family and we still have our daughter with us. Michelle you are a true angel to the many families that the current mental health system has let down. We are forever thankful for your support.
Robyn – Mother of Chloe (18 years old)

I was diagnosed with depression when I was 13.  During that time I was self-harming almost every day.  When we found Youth Excel it truly did change my life.  They approached me like a person, not a patient.  I went from not going to school at all, to attending four days a week really quickly.  I started studying and passing all my subjects which is something I never thought I’d do.  My relationship with my Mum improved dramatically.  This year I finished year 12 and am now enrolled in my first year as a psychology student at QUT.  I am sure that I would not be where I am today without the help of Youth Excel.
